Reggie Rockstone, also known as Reginald Yaw Asante Ossei, is a Ghanaian rapper who was born in the United Kingdom but spent his early years in Kumasi and Accra. He has been a continuous resident of Ghana since he pioneered the Hip-Life movement in 1994.

Rockstone is married to Dr. Zilla Limann, the daughter of Hilla Limann, the former president of the third Republic of Ghana, and they have three children together.

He is credited as the pioneer of Hiplife or Kasahara music in Ghana and has played a crucial role in the development of this uniquely African genre. Rockstone raps in Akan, precisely Asante Twi, and English.

He has received numerous accolades for his work, including the Kora Award for the best African video in 2004.

Rockstone’s influence extends internationally, and he has performed in front of large crowds and collaborated with renowned artists. He is also featured in the 2007 documentary “Living the Hiplife.”

In addition to his music career, Rockstone is an entrepreneur and producer. He is the son of fashion designer Ricky “Ricci” Ossei (Saint Ossei) and attended Achimota School.

Rockstone joined the Ghanaian hip hop group VVIP in 2014. His impact on the music industry and his cultural contributions have earned him the title “the Godfather of Hiplife.”
